This Vancouver entrepreneur is teaching children for free during the pandemic
Immigrants in the Vancouver area (British Columbia) represent 41% of the population and play a huge role in its social and economic development. Meet Kavita Dau, a young immigrant entrepreneur, who has been giving back to her community by teaching kids for free online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kavita is the founder and CEO of Dau Academy. She started the academy as a way to increase students’ exam results and their confidence in school. The pandemic didn’t deter her mission – Kavita decided to keep teaching for free, via Zoom, to help mitigate some of the effects of this unprecedented phase on students’ learning.
