The PAIE program for newcomer job seekers in the environment sector

0

The Professional Access Into Employment (PAIE) program is designed to help internationally educated job seekers with backgrounds in engineering, environmental science, geoscience, planning, and other environmental professions gain access to employment opportunities in Ontario’s local labour market. This environmental bridging program for immigrants is delivered mostly virtually and provides all services to eligible residents of Ontario for up to nine months.

The three main goals of the PAIE program are employment, licensure or certification, and organizational change. Participants are provided with an understanding of the local environmental industry. The program also helps you achieve your goal of finding employment in the environmental sector, by linking them with mentors and potential employers to fill their hiring needs. You are also given support through the process of obtaining professional licensing and certifications that may be required for work in your field.

PAIE offers participants specific legislation, regulations, terminology, technical standards and general practices relevant to the fields served by the program. You benefit from over 140 hours of sector-specific training designed and led by industry professionals, and opportunities to participate in virtual and in-person field excursions, networking and mentoring opportunities.

You also receive ongoing customized individual job search, and employment coaching provided by a designated PAIE coordinator who supports you throughout the program.
