Are you an entrepreneur who is interested in moving to Canada? If yes, then the Start-up Visa Program is for you. The program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that are innovative, can create jobs and can compete on a global scale.
Our reporter Sarabpreet Kaur spoke with Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant Dhruv Saini to get more information about this program for you and explain the eligibility requirements. For instance, you are required to prove that you have enough funds to support yourself and your family, and you are not medically or criminally inadmissible.
There are also some unique requirements, including having a qualifying business. “A qualifying business under the Start-up Visa Program is one in which each owner (applicant) has at least 10% ownership or voting rights in that company,” explains Dhruv, who is also the founder of Electo Immigration and Citizenship Services.
Watch the interview to understand the application procedure as well as what you can do to arrive in Canada sooner while your application is being processed.
