Episode 7
School work, friends, family, and growing up – being a youth today is already hard enough, but for immigrant youth things can be especially difficult. The YMCA hosts a newcomer youth program, targeted to inspire leadership, offer workshops, and more. Give it a look and see if a young one in your life might benefit from it. After that, we learn about SOPA, an online pre-arrival program designed to get prospective immigrants more prepared and confident for their journey to Canada. Another program we investigate is HR Connections by ACCES Employment. This is for human resources professionals who want to bridge their experiences to Canada to land a great job. And be sure not to miss our interview with career coach and author Daisy Wright, who tells us all about how to use the storytelling skills that you already have to write a great resume, nail a job interview, and develop a social media strategy to get the job you want.
