Privacy Policy

BEFORE USING OUR SITES, PLEASE READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY CAREFULLY.

This Privacy Policy is applicable to New Horizons Media Inc. (“Company”) and sets out our policy on the gathering and use of information on this and other sites owned by us (collectively “Sites”). The Company is committed to providing safe websites for visitors of all ages and has implemented this Privacy Policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy. The Company complies with Canadian Federal and Provincial privacy laws and regulations including the Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act.

While our Sites may contain links to other websites; please note that this Privacy Policy applies solely to all our online properties, and not to web sites of other companies or organizations to which our Sites may be linked. Make sure to thoroughly check linked websites for their respective privacy policies and/or to make any necessary inquiries in respect of those privacy policies with the operator/proprietor of the linked site. These links to third party websites are provided as a convenience and are for informational purposes only.  The Company and our associated properties do not endorse, and are not responsible for, these linked websites.

Although you are not required to register to access our Sites, you may be asked to provide us with personal information when you visit certain sections of our Sites. Your continued use of our Sites signifies your acknowledgement and consent to our Privacy Policy as well as your acceptance of these terms and any changes in effect at the time of use. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personal Information is information about you that identifies you as an individual, for example, your name, address, e-mail address, or telephone number.

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us through newsletter and webinar registration, responses to surveys, search functions, questionnaires, feedback, forms and the like. We may also ask you to provide additional information such as your first name, last name, e-mail address, address, city, country, profession, postal code, website if you would like to receive newsletters, emails, attend webinars, obtain additional services, information, participate in a contest or to resolve complaints or concerns.

When you visit the Sites, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, gender, age, country, city, type of browser, operating system used, date and time of the visits and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Sites, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the site, and information about how you interact with the Sites. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  •     “Log files” track actions occurring on the Sites, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

Additionally, when you view our videos, we collect certain information from you, such as your country, age, gender, device used, videos watched, start and end time of watching a video, duration and the questions you ask during webinars.  We refer to this information as “Viewer Information.”

Newsletter Subscriptions

When you subscribe to any of the Company newsletters, you need to supply an email address, first name, last name, city, country, postal code and profession. This information is used to deliver the newsletter and relevant resources to you. Your email is not used or shared with any other newsletter subscriber, organization or website.

Polls and Surveys

Occasionally our Sites users will have the opportunity to respond to an online poll or survey. Your responses are private. Feel safe in knowing that your responses are completely anonymous.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Viewer Information.

HOW DOES OUR COMPANY USE INFORMATION GATHERED ABOUT ONLINE VISITORS?

Before forwarding us any personal information, please be advised that any information gathered on our Sites may be used in the aggregate for research and development relating to our Sites and/or for future site development and, if you ask us to, to send you promotional materials. SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We also use third party service to allow you commenting on the contents and collect your name, email address or publically available information of your social media accounts for the same.

We share your information with our sponsors and partners only when you explicitly consent for the same.

Finally, we will also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful requests for information that we may receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Please note that we do not alter our Sites’ data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

If a visitor objects to such use for any reason, he/she may prevent that use, either by e-mail request or by modifying the registration information provided. The Company uses reasonable efforts to maintain visitors’ information in a secure environment. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

The Company will not disclose personal information that you provide on its Sites to any third parties other than to a Company agent except: i) in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, or ii) to comply with legal requirements such as a law, regulation, warrant, subpoena or court order, and/or iii) if you are reporting an adverse event/side effect, in which case the Company may be required to disclose such information to bodies such as, but not limited to, Canadian and/or international regulatory authorities. Please note that any of these disclosures may involve the storage or processing of personal information outside of Canada and may, therefore, be subject to different privacy laws than those applicable in Canada, including laws that require the disclosure of personal information to governmental authorities under circumstances that are different than those that apply in Canada.

COOKIES

The Company, in common with many web site operators, may use standard technology called “cookies” on its Sites. Cookies are small data files containing a unique identification number that is downloaded onto your computer when you visit a particular web site so that the website may identify separate visitors to the site and track users’ activities on the website. A cookie will not let a website know any personally identifiable information about you, such as your real name and address.

The Company uses cookies only to keep track of how many people visit the Sites and where they go on the Sites. Your individual movement cannot be tracked while on the Sites. Our only interest here is to be able to improve the quality of the Sites by identifying which parts of the Sites are not being utilized.

You can disable cookies by turning them off in your browser; however, some areas of the Sites may not function properly if you do so.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN ONLINE

The Company considers the protection of children’s privacy, especially online, to be of the utmost importance. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children or request information through our Sites.

ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR CERTAIN WEBSITES

The following additional information applies to our Sites that require registration. Generally, you are not required to provide personal information as a condition of using our Sites, except as may be necessary to provide you with a product or service that you have requested. However, we may require individuals to register to receive newsletters, emails and attend webinars by providing us with certain information.

Personal information you share with us is stored on our database servers at Company data centres (in whatever country they may be located), or hosted by third parties who have entered into agreements with us that require them to observe our Privacy Policy.

If we alter our Privacy Policy, any changes will be posted on this page of our Sites so that you are always informed of the information we collect about you, how we use it and the circumstances under which we may disclose it.
