A place to belong at the Scarborough Museum
In the heart of east Toronto, Ontario lies the Scarborough Museum, a community and volunteer effort that welcomes the contributions of people from all walks of life. Many newcomers immigrate to the diverse (former) city of Scarborough and that assortment of cultures is reflected in the museum’s volunteers. Volunteers here can hope to learn about history, contribute to their community and of course make friends as they help out. Pailagi Pandya, program officer, shares her own story about how volunteering at the museum as a youth helped her find a place in the community.
