Immigrant Services Calgary to host 21st Immigrants of Distinction Awards Gala
Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) will be hosting the 21st annual Immigrants of Distinction Awards Gala on March 10, 2017 at the Westin, Calgary. For the last twenty years the ISC has celebrated diversity and the outstanding contributions of immigrants and refugees to Calgary and the community. The theme for the 21st IDA gala is “Global Talent – Canada’s Advantage.”
“Immigrants of Distinction Awards has allowed me to recognize the countless immigrants in our communities who are putting forth their unwavering devotion to make our city the greatest place it can be for everyone” says Andrew Min, Youth Scholarship Recipient, IDA 2016.
ISC is eager to recognize the accomplishments that will emerge from the nominations of the 2017 Immigrants of Distinction Awards. ISC is currently accepting nominations in the following categories:
- Achievement Under 35
- Arts and Culture
- Community Service
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Lifetime Achievement
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
- Organizational Diversity
- Youth Scholarships
Individuals and organizations who are nominated must reside in Calgary or the surrounding area. All entries will be reviewed by an external anonymous selection committee comprised of community members. Award recipients will be announced at the Gala on March 10, 2017. Candidates must be nominated by someone other than themselves with the exception of the Youth Scholarship Category.
