#NewcomerRiseUp with Nouhaila Chelkhaoui | Episode 8
Nouhaila Chelkhaoui is a Moroccan-Canadian entrepreneur and the founder of Scale Without Borders, a startup advancing the participation of newcomers in tech. She came to Canada at the age of 17 as an international student, much like #NewcomerRiseUp host, Trishala. By 23, Nouhaila joined her first technology startup, before joining the Ryerson Discovery Media Zone (DMZ) and becoming the head of the Women Founders programs working with women-identifying entrepreneurs.
In this episode, we reflect on the journey of being international students, going to international schools in our countries of origin, Nouhaila’s gap year outside of Canada, the athlete’s mindset, the real impact of events, and supporting entrepreneurs.
Since filming the show, Nouhaila has now turned Scale Without Borders from a side hustle into her full-time work and we’re thrilled for her!
