Newcomer Destination: Northern Ontario conference for immigrants to explore welcoming communities

Opportunities and growth in Canada aren’t limited to the big cities. Across the country, small and mid-sized towns and cities offer affordability, career growth, and a better quality of life. As more newcomers look beyond Canada’s major cities for a community to call home, a new virtual conference will help connect them to the opportunities waiting in Northern Ontario.

Organized by New Canadians TV Network, Newcomer Destination: Northern Ontario is a free virtual conference for pre-arrival candidates and newcomers already in Canada who are considering a move for better opportunities.

“Every year, through our Before You Arrive in Canada virtual conference for pre-arrival immigrants, we create a bridge for incoming immigrants to connect with vital supports across Canada that will help them transition smoothly. We’re launching the Newcomer Destination series to hyperfocus on regions instead of the entire country, starting with Northern Ontario, which has strong industries, affordable towns and cities, and communities ready to welcome new residents. We want people to see those possibilities at the Newcomer Destination: Northern Ontario virtual conference and feel confident taking that next step,” says Gerard Keledjian, Managing Director, New Canadians TV Network, a division of New Horizons Media Inc.

Planning for Canada has been an active part of our annual Before You Arrive in Canada conference every year since its launch in 2023, and we’re grateful to have them on board as a sponsor for the Newcomer Destination: Northern Ontario conference. It reflects our long-standing partnership and their continued belief in our work,” adds Gerard.
