This information session tells you about the Bridge to Employment in Media and Communications (BEMC) program offered by the Mennonite New Life Centre.
A six-month training program, BEMC includes different aspects of media for immigrant professionals with a background in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, and related fields. Participants also learn about Canadian culture and the Ontario media landscape and receive workplace communication training to boost their employability.
In addition, you will learn about career-building courses, get employment support, have your resume and cover letter assessed, and gain access to mock interviews.

This media training program for immigrants also offers career exploration, in terms of what you bring, how you can use your transferable skills, and the options open to you. This aside, in partnership with Seneca College, BEMC offers you two courses to boost your resume and make it more attractive to employers. Along with a placement counsellor, you will also explore internship opportunities in your field, enabling you to connect with BEMC’s partners.
