IWIP helps build leadership in community engagement
Center for Community Learning and Development’s Immigrant Women Integration Program (IWIP) aims to provide a leadership development opportunity for immigrant women, to help them prepare for work or for volunteering in the social service and community-based sector. The objective of IWIP is to help participants develop organizational and analytical skills, gain understanding of organizational structures and participate directly in local community organizations.
The one-year program focuses on governance/leadership for social change, which are critical skills for women seeking employment within the social service and community-based sector. It has three major sets of development: individual, community and social/stake holder services and includes six major areas that trainees have to cover in order to complete the program.
