The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is an agency of the Government of Ontario. Within the financial services it regulates, FSRA protects the interests of consumers, prevents fraud, and educates the public on sound practices, among other responsibilities.
FSRA also runs many awareness programs on consumer protection, conducts research on consumer behaviour by actively engaging with communities, and makes sure that Ontarians – both newcomers and those who are Canadian-born – are not scammed by bad actors and only receive advice from credentialled financial advisors and planners.
