Durham Newcomer Day
September 26 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm EDT
The first-ever Durham Newcomer Day is happening this September, and you’re invited!
Hosted by the Region of Durham in partnership with the Durham Employment and Newcomer Centre, this free, family-friendly event will bring together newcomers and long-time residents to celebrate the diversity that strengthens Durham Region. It will also provide a platform for everyone to connect and learn from one another.
What to expect
The event will feature cultural performances, community exhibits, a vendor marketplace, children’s activities, and opportunities for residents to connect with local organizations, programs and services that support newcomers.
Citizenship Ceremony: As part of the celebration, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will also host a Canadian citizenship ceremony, welcoming new Canadian citizens in a special milestone event.
The event will take place rain or shine and will include both indoor and outdoor activities.
