Bridge training programs for international professionals by JVS Toronto

This information session sheds light on the bridge training programs offered by JVS Toronto, a non-profit agency offering a range of services including job search support, employment counselling, training, mentoring, job coaching, and job retention delivered across nine locations in Toronto, and Ontario’s York Region.

Bridge training programs for international professionals:

  • Canadian Workplace Communication (Enhanced Language Training) for internationally educated professionals in Banking/Finance, and Architecture (eight weeks), and a similar program for internationally educated professionals in Information Technology, for six weeks.
  • ISAGE (International Skills Applied for Geriatrics) is for internationally trained doctors, teachers, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare and education professionals.
  • READY (Recruitment for Equity, Accessibility, and Diversity) is a program for internationally trained professionals in the fields of HR, sales, marketing, business development, and hospitality.
  • IPLAN (Immigrant Professionals Leveraging Architectural Knowledge for New Opportunities) is a program for internationally trained architects who can benefit from sector-specific workshops, academic modules at Toronto Metropolitan University, licensing information, mentoring, job search support, and work placements as they aim to resume their careers in Canada.

This session was presented during the Crossover virtual conference organized by New Canadians TV Network to help incoming and landed immigrant professionals re-establish their careers by bridging the gap between their international qualifications and the Canadian job market.
