An immigrant success story: Sukhjit Singh

The challenge is not moving to another country. It’s making that country home. Sukhjit Singh brought his skills and experience to Canada in search of a new path. However, like most immigrants, he had to go through the grind. For Sukhjit, the path was made easier through volunteering. By lending his expertise to not for profit organizations, he integrated himself into Canadian society. He grew and learnt everything he needed to succeed in this new country he called home. After months of volunteering he landed his first job as a ‘settlement organizer.’ The Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award winner is helping new immigrants find their feet in their new country. Sukhjit’s words of advice for them is ‘No matter what, stick to your family.’
